Company Overview

A well-established electronics manufacturing company is seeking an EHS & Facilities Officer to support its operations in Penang. The organization is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace while continuously driving operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct workplace safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and regulatory non-compliance.

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss cases, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Ensure compliance with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and other regulatory requirements.

  • Manage environmental monitoring activities, including CHRA, LEV, noise monitoring, and chemical monitoring programs.

  • Monitor and manage scheduled waste in accordance with environmental regulations.

  • Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS), PPE issuance records, legal registers, and first aid supplies.

  • Coordinate Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities, fire drills, and emergency preparedness programs.

  • Conduct EHS-related training and awareness programs for employees.

  • Lead customer audits and support internal and external compliance audits.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, health, and environmental performance.

  • Support facility, hostel, and office management activities.

  • Coordinate maintenance, security, transportation, and service providers to ensure smooth operations.

  • Assist with licence renewals, permits, regulatory reporting, and compliance documentation.

  • Support company events and special projects as assigned by management.


Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in EHS, Safety, SHE, or Environmental Compliance within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or industrial environments is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.

  • Experience with scheduled waste management, CHRA, LEV, chemical handling, and environmental monitoring.

  • Knowledge of incident investigation methodologies and corrective action implementation.

  • Experience supporting internal, external, and customer audits.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Proactive, independent, and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to conduct training and drive safety awareness programs.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
