PR/123985 | Furniture R&D Manager

We are seeking a strong, hands-on R&D Manager who will act as a think tank for new design development, mentor and inspire the team, and effectively bridge product innovation with manufacturing execution.

Qualifications
 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Product Design or Architecture.

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Custom Furniture Manufacturing.

• Strong background in R&D / Product Development / Design (PDE).

• Experienced in creating new furniture designs, with a keen eye for industry trends, especially in sofa design.

• Solid understanding of materials (wood, metal, etc.), production processes, manufacturing flow, and costing structures (BOM/BOQ).

• Proven leadership experience managing large teams (25–30 people).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the company’s R&D team.

• Direct new product design initiatives and bridge product innovation with manufacturing execution.

• Develop detailed specifications and stay updated on the latest design, materials, and industry developments.

• Establish design standards and guidelines to ensure high-quality products.

• Review engineering drawings and construction-ready documents.

• Create short-term and long-term R&D roadmaps.

• Manage priorities and decision-making on “Buy or Create” strategies aligned with factory capacity.
