Data Center Project Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Lead for a critical data center infrastructure project supporting a major global client in Japan.

In this role, you will serve as the primary onsite lead and key interface between the customer and project teams, ensuring the successful execution and smooth delivery of the project.

This is a highly visible and strategically important position that will have a significant impact on the business in Japan as well as across the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the onsite Technical Lead for data center infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on fiber-related infrastructure.
• Serve as the primary communication point of contact between the customer and project teams.
• Lead coordination and collaboration with internal teams and external partners/vendors.
• Provide accurate, timely, and professional communication to the customer.
• Gather and analyze customer requirements, translating them into actionable tasks for local teams.
• Maintain strong governance to prevent miscommunication, unrealistic commitments, and project risks.
• Identify, manage, and drive resolution of technical and operational issues.
• Support the development and maintenance of strong customer relationships.

Required Qualifications

• Native-level Japanese and strong English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Extensive technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, particularly fiber infrastructure and connectivity.
• Experience leading onsite operations, technical teams, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to bridge communication between global customers and local delivery teams.
• Strong stakeholder management, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting large-scale global enterprise clients, including hyperscalers.
• Experience working in multi-vendor environments and coordinating with external partners.
• Experience handling escalations and working in high-pressure, mission-critical project environments.
