【Accounting Manager】@ Leading Global Banking Corporation

One of the three oldest banks in the world, maintaining a strong presence in Japan for over 50 years. The institution is committed to financial excellence, sustainability, and innovation. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the Accounting Department at the Japan Branch.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage, analyze, and review all returns submitted to local Japanese regulators.

- Direct all accounting-related tasks for the branch.

- Oversee local regulatory reporting and ensure the accuracy of financial statements.

- Develop and implement process efficiencies for regulatory return reporting.

- Support the preparation of tax returns in coordination with external tax accountants.

- Lead and manage team workflow to ensure all reports meet internal standards.

- Liaise with internal/external auditors and relevant regulatory authorities.

- Provide regulatory compliance insights to support broader business initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an accounting manager within a banking institution.

- Strong knowledge of Japan GAAP and IFRS, specifically regarding financial products.

- Proven experience handling regulatory requests and working with accounting auditors.

- Proficiency in IT systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Office.

- Strong people management skills with the ability to work independently.

- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English.

- Preferred certifications: CPA, Tax Accountant, or Nissho Bookkeeping Level 1 or 2.
