Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage statutory and tax audits in Japan
Ensure compliance with J-GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls
Collaborate with external accounting firms and tax advisors
Coordinate with the Global Shared Services Center for routine accounting tasks
Support the transition and automation of accounting processes
Partner with FP&A for reporting and analysis improvements
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
Identify and implement efficiency improvements across finance operations

Required Qualifications
Fluent in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) – essential for audit and regulatory work
Business-level English – required for international communication
Proven experience managing audits and statutory reporting in Japan
Strong skills in prioritization, resilience, and time management
Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency in accounting systems and automation tools
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Skills
Experience in multinational companies or working within a global finance structure
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Track record of driving process improvements or finance automation projects
Hands-on experience with Shared Services or outsourcing models
CPA (Japan or international), Boki level 2 or higher, or other relevant accounting certifications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proactive mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive change
