Soul of Japan K.K, Pure Salmon Group, produces and processes Atlantic salmon by Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) technology in Japan.
While global demand for salmon is expected to increase due to population growth and the spread of fish-eating culture, aquaculture in the sea is cultivated in large aquaculture tanks on land amid limited fishing grounds suitable for weather conditions. "RAS" is expected as a method that will contribute to a sustainable supply in the future.
Since Atlantic salmon needs to be in low water temperature, it is currently cultivated in the seas of Norway and Chile then imported to Japan.
However, Soul of Japan, Ras techinology make it possible to cultivate Atlantic salmon in Japan through water temperature control through our own tehcnology. Then we can distribute freshest Atlantic salmon from our Mie factory to whole Japan.
Pure Salmon Group owns a RAS farm in Poland and succeeded in raising Atlantic salmon large enough to be sold as a commercial product in 2018 (500tons per year. At the farm, purified and artificial seawater is used instead of seawater to reduce the risk of disease invasion from seawater, and the water is circulated using advanced filtration technology to reduce the environmental burden.
In Japan, we have begun to construct a farm in Mie Prefecture in 2023 and will plan to produce 10,000 tons per year by utilizing the same next-generation technology
Soul of Japan promises a brighter future for seafood., for us Japan and for the planet by actively working on the distribution of Atlantic salmon cultivated in a safe, secure and environmentally friendly manner in Japan.
