Work performed in our firm mainly consists of US and Japanese patent drafting and prosecution, and patent related litigation. The main language in which correspondences are made with associates etc. outside of Japan is English.

Because inventions, the basis for patents, are without shape or form, they must be defined strictly by language.  The language (wording) used to define the invention determines the value of the patent.

Just as Japanese companies seek to expand their operations into foreign countries, foreign companies look to expand their businesses into Japan.
