Job Title-General Manager – Production

Job Purpose-To lead and manage the overall Production function including Reagent Production, Instrument Production, Production Engineering and Maintenance. The position is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, compliant and cost-effective manufacturing operations, achieving production targets, improving productivity and yield, optimizing resources, and developing a capable production organization in line with business requirements.

Job Importance-To ensure efficient, compliant and cost-effective production operations by achieving production targets, maintaining quality and productivity, optimizing resources, and driving continuous improvement across Reagent Production, Instrument Production, Production Engineering and Maintenance.

Job Responsibilities-

Lead and oversee the overall Production function, including Reagent Production, Instrument Production, Production Engineering and Maintenance.
• Plan, organize and execute production activities to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual production targets in line with domestic and export demand.
• Review and approve production plans, daily production schedules, manpower deployment and resource requirements.
• Monitor production performance, productivity, yield, rejection, downtime, manpower utilization and other key production KPIs, and take corrective actions where required.
• Ensure effective coordination among Production, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Packing, Labeling, Maintenance, Purchase, Administration, Engineering and other cross-functional departments.
• Oversee manufacturing activities across Animal House & P. Hybridoma, P. Protein, Antisera, Microbiology, Biochemistry/ETP/Water, Immunology – AMI Manufacturing, Sterile, Immunology – Contract Manufacturing, Signal (GOLD), Instruments & BGM, Packing, and Labeling & Pre-Packing.
• Lead Production Engineering activities covering Reagent PE, Instrument PE & Automation, Validation, Sputtering Process – Shimei, Electronics – Shimei, Mechanical – Shimei and Process – Shimei.
• Oversee Maintenance activities including Repairs & Facility and PM & Calibration, ensuring high equipment availability and minimum production downtime.
• Ensure effective preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, calibration and facility management to support continuous production.
• Drive improvement in productivity, manufacturing efficiency, process capability, yield and overall equipment utilization.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through batch-size optimization, process.

Candidate Requirements-

•       Strong experience in production/manufacturing, preferably in diagnostic,             immunology, ELISA or rapid test products. 

•       Good knowledge of GMP, SOPs, production planning, process control and           documentation. 

•      Experience in productivity improvement, yield improvement and cost                    reducation. 

• S   Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills. 

•      Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills. 

 Knowledge of SAP/ERP and MS Office will be preferred.
