A Global Financial firm is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator, to join a special infrastructure team providing dedicated production support for mission critical Linux systems, ensuring high availability, performance and security. Supporting the Equity business unit’s systems including but not limited to COLO/DMZ infrastructure used for high frequency/ low latency trading, you will monitor & troubleshoot systems, manage deployments and patches, automate operational tasks, & work closely with infrastructure, application & business teams to resolve incidents & drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide production support for COLO/DMZ infrastructure supporting high-frequency, low-latency trading systems
- Collaborate with HFT developers, project managers, and support teams to deliver solutions within tight timelines
- Work directly with the HFT trading desk and occasionally join client calls to translate requirements into technical solutions for COLO environments
- Participate in and lead exchange connectivity build-out projects when required
- Work independently and collaborate with global teams across Asia, Europe, and the US
- Ensure system stability and availability through troubleshooting, incident response, escalation, and root cause analysis
- Perform system administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and DR testing
- Partner with Cross Platform Engineering to define operational requirements and deliver infrastructure solutions
- Manage system changes following change management procedures, including testing, approvals, deployment, and validation
- Ensure compliance with IT security, audit, and regulatory standards
- Manage vendor support cases and drive resolution
- Maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, procedures, and runbooks

- 5+ years of UNIX/Linux support experience, with strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8+) on bare-metal and high-performance HPE or similar servers.
- Experience in performance tuning, latency optimization, capacity planning, and BIOS/firmware tuning for low-latency environments.
- Strong Shell/Python/Perl/Ansible scripting skills and hands-on experience with UNIX core services such as LDAP, Kerberos, and Ansible Tower.
- Knowledge of low-latency networking and time synchronization, including Solarflare/Onload, PTP, Meinberg GPS receivers, DNS/DHCP, and network firewalls.
- Familiarity with DevOps, telemetry, and monitoring tools in high-performance computing environments.
