The school will open in September 2027 in Koshigaya, Saitama, located north of Tokyo Station.

Position Summary

REGENT Christian Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing, and highly qualified First Grade Teacher who is passionate about Christian education and committed to helping children grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

The successful candidate will create a joyful and engaging classroom environment where students develop strong foundations in:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Biblical principles

All instruction will be delivered through an English-language curriculum.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Instruction

  • Teach all core first-grade subjects in English.
  • Deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons using hands-on learning approaches.
  • Foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs.
  • Integrate educational technology into classroom learning where appropriate.

2. Christian Leadership

  • Inspire students by modeling Jesus Christ-like character and servant leadership.
  • Integrate biblical truth naturally throughout the curriculum.
  • Lead classroom devotions and prayer.
  • Encourage students to develop Christian character, including:
    • Integrity
    • Kindness
    • Respect
    • Responsibility
    • Compassion

3. Classroom Management

  • Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Establish consistent classroom routines and expectations.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students and families.

4. Student Assessment

  • Regularly assess student learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate academic records.
  • Prepare report cards and communicate student progress.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences.

5. School Community

  • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
  • Support school events, chapel services, and special programs.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and staff.
  • Maintain positive communication with parents.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license.
  • Native or near-native English proficiency.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Passion for Christian education and teaching the next generation the joy of life, learning, and knowing God.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience teaching First Grade or Early Elementary students.
  • International school teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching English Language Learners (ELL).
  • Understanding of inquiry-based learning approaches.
  • Experience integrating educational technology into teaching.
