Job Description

A Global Manufacturer in the automotive sector is looking for a highly experienced Project Engineer – Vehicle Software Diagnostics to support vehicle diagnostics development, ECU change management, and diagnostics content deployment for commercial vehicles.
In this role, you will support the development, validation, and release of vehicle diagnostics for new vehicle programs, software updates, and engineering changes. Working closely with R&D, Project Management, and Quality teams, you will coordinate diagnostics development throughout the vehicle lifecycle, with a focus on ECU changes, diagnostics content, and software releases.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze ECU hardware and software changes to determine diagnostic impacts
- Develop and maintain vehicle diagnostics content using industry-standard formats such as CXF and ODX
- Prepare diagnostic specification sheets and supporting technical documentation
- Support diagnostics validation and ensure readiness for production releases
- Manage diagnostics content throughout the vehicle software lifecycle, including new models, software upgrades, and field fixes
- Coordinate with Project Management, R&D, Quality Management, and other stakeholders to plan diagnostics development activities
- Track new vehicle projects, model updates, software releases, and engineering changes
- Manage diagnostics deliverables to ensure alignment with overall vehicle development schedules
- Plan diagnostic validation activities and vehicle availability for testing
- Support release planning and deployment of diagnostic content for after-sales operations
- Coordinate change management activities related to ECU software and diagnostics updates
- Manage diagnostics content releases and version control
- Prepare diagnostic procedures, service documentation, and user manuals
- Support after-sales diagnostics by ensuring accurate and up-to-date diagnostic information is available for service organizations
- Work closely with engineering teams to resolve diagnostic issues identified during development and field operations
- Prepare monthly dashboards, KPIs, and MIS reports for management
- Monitor project progress and report risks, issues, and schedule status
- Identify opportunities to improve diagnostics development processes and operational efficiency
- Drive initiatives focused on cost optimization and continuous improvement

Required Skills

- 3+ years of experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle electronics, ECU development, or automotive project engineering
- Good understanding of ECU architecture and vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet)
- Experience with automotive diagnostics standards such as ODX, CXF, UDS, or ISO 14229
- Experience supporting vehicle software releases, diagnostics development, or engineering change management
- Experience coordinating crossfunctional engineering projects and working with multiple stakeholders
