Legal Manager | International Consumer Company Exclusive job

About the Role

We are seeking a Legal Manager to join the Japan legal team of a well-known international consumer company. This is a broad commercial role supporting the business across a wide range of legal matters while working closely with local and regional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal advice to the Japan business.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements.
• Advise on marketing, advertising, promotions, consumer protection, and regulatory matters.
• Support product launches and new business initiatives.
• Manage legal risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Work closely with business teams to provide practical, commercially focused legal solutions.
• Liaise with external counsel when required.
• Support regional and global legal projects.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in Japan or another major jurisdiction.
• Approximately 5 to 10 years of post-qualification experience.
• In-house experience in a consumer, retail, FMCG, e-commerce, healthcare, or technology company is preferred.
• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Business-level English and Japanese.
• Practical, business-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
