Our client, a global travel agency based in central Tokyo, is seeking a Customer Service Officer to join their international team. This role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional support to international travelers exploring Japan, ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to client queries and defuse complaints
- Coordinate emergency assistance with insurance providers and hospitals
- Manage customer service inbox and emergency phone line on rotation
- Investigate service issues and negotiate compensation
- Document complaints and incidents for reporting
- Monitor Japan news and flag national emergencies
- Provide on-ground support for clients when necessary
- Verify itineraries and maintain financial records
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Business, or related field
- Strong written and spoken Japanese and English
- Flexibility to work shifts, including some weekends
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with travel software is a plus
- Experience with customer service in travel or hospitality industry
- Knowledge of Japan destinations is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience with emergency response coordination is preferred but not mandatory
