Overview
Our client is an internationally active logistics service provider with a strong presence in Europe and Asia. The company offers customer‑oriented air and sea freight solutions and operates within a global network. In Germany, the organization is currently strengthening its core locations as part of an operational consolidation and efficiency enhancement.
Role Overview
We are looking for an Air Freight Export Operator to support growing air export activities at key German locations. This role is suitable for candidates with junior to mid-level experience in air freight forwarding who are comfortable working in a hands-on, flexible environment where operational responsibility and adaptability are valued.
The position reports directly to the local Branch Manager and works closely with international partners and overseas offices.
Responsibilities
Handling end-to-end air freight export operations
Acceptance and processing of export bookings and customer orders
Preparation and verification of export and shipping documentation
Coordination with airlines, handling agents, customs brokers, and overseas offices
Direct communication with customers regarding shipment status and inquiries
Billing and invoicing to customers and partner agents
Handling customer complaints, claims, and operational issues
Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, Incoterms, and relevant regulations
Requirements
Completed commercial education or vocational training in logistics / freight forwarding
Initial to solid experience in air freight operations (export preferred)
Basic working knowledge of Incoterms is required
Familiarity with forwarding or cargo management systems is an advantage
Service-oriented mindset with a proactive and reliable working style
Ability to work flexibly in a less rigid, medium-sized organizational environment
German and English Business fluent, Japanese is a plus
Benefits
Approx. EUR 55,000 annual gross salary (depending on experience)
30 days paid leave
Working hours: 39 hours per week
