This role is a manager‑level position responsible for overseeing a portfolio of accounting and tax clients. The manager leads client meetings, provides technical advice, and ensures all financial statements and tax returns meet regulatory standards. They supervise a team, allocate work, review outputs for quality and compliance, and maintain strong client relationships representing a significant revenue base.
The role also involves supporting annual reporting processes, ensuring deadlines are met, and driving efficiency through best‑practice use of technology. The manager is expected to uphold high professional standards, contribute to a positive team culture, develop staff, and help strengthen the firm’s reputation through high‑quality insights and service.
Manage a client portfolio and act as primary contact
Review accounts and tax returns for accuracy and compliance
Supervise and allocate work across the tax preparation team
Ensure quality control of all outgoing documents
Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high‑value advice
Support annual reporting tasks (e.g., employee benefit filings)
Drive efficiency through technology
Develop team capability and uphold firm values
Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards
Experience managing accounts and tax work in a practice environment
Strong client relationship skills
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage)
Audit or independent examination experience is beneficial
Ability to lead, coach, and maintain high technical standards
Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, or equivalent)
Part‑qualified candidates with strong experience may also be considered
