About the Role

We are seeking a Field Project Engineer to join a large-scale industrial construction project led by a growing international company in Japan.

This position will serve as the link between engineering and construction, ensuring that designs are effectively translated into practical site execution. The successful candidate will play a key role in resolving technical issues, coordinating contractors, maintaining quality standards, and supporting project delivery.

This is a hands-on, site-based role for someone who enjoys being actively involved in construction execution rather than working solely from an office.

Key Responsibilities

Field Engineering & Construction Support

• Review IFC drawings, construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• Verify alignment between engineering designs and field execution
• Identify design changes, construction clashes, missing information, and material shortages
• Propose practical solutions to technical and construction challenges
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor project progress

Project Coordination

• Coordinate activities between contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and permit requirements
• Support schedule management and help prevent delays and rework
• Track project progress, risks, and action items

Quality & Safety

• Support inspections and quality control activities
• Manage Punch List and NCR follow-up actions
• Identify and escalate safety and quality concerns
• Prepare daily and weekly reports in English

Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
• 5+ years of experience in large-scale construction projects
• 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer, Site Engineer, or Construction Supervisor
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings
• Business-level English communication skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office
• Strong problem-solving and contractor coordination skills

Preferred

• EPC project experience
• Mechanical equipment or piping installation experience
• Process plant, utilities, or industrial facility experience
• Experience in water treatment, food manufacturing, or similar industrial environments
• Experience with AutoCAD, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools
• Experience working on projects in Japan
• Japanese language ability
