Our client, a leading company in the cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors, is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to elevate their secure trading platform in Japan. This role offers the opportunity to lead compliance and risk management, ensuring adherence to Japanese regulations while collaborating with a global team. The position offers a competitive base salary of 22M Yen, a hybrid work model with 3 days work-from-home, and a modern office environment in Central Tokyo.


Key Responsibilities:

- Lead compliance and risk management for Japanese market
- Develop AML/CFT strategies and ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies like Financial Services Agency
- Enhance internal controls and governance structures
- Collaborate with global teams for compliance alignment
- Create compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee compliance training for staff


Qualifications:

- Experience in financial compliance or risk management
- Proficiency in Japanese
- Experience with AML/CFT processes
- Experience explaining to regulatory bodies like Financial Services Agency
- Experience in cryptocurrency exchange or similar financial institutions
- Familiarity with Japanese financial regulations
- Experience with risk assessment and data analysis
- Ability to communicate in English or Chinese is preferred but not mandatory
