Position Overview

An innovative robotics and advanced hardware technology company in Tokyo is seeking a hands-on and creative Mechatronics Engineer to contribute to the design and development of next-generation sensing and electromechanical products.

The successful candidate will be involved in the full product development cycle, including mechanical design, PCB development, prototyping, testing, and production preparation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both technical problem-solving and hands-on engineering work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Hardware Design

• Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software with consideration for tolerances and manufacturability
• Produce and review engineering drawings for mechanical and electronic designs
• Design PCBs from schematic capture through layout and manufacturing preparation
• Support the development of integrated sensor and electromechanical systems
• Contribute to prototyping, assembly, and hardware refinement activities

Testing & Validation

• Conduct and document testing of hardware components and assemblies
• Evaluate mechanical and functional performance of prototypes
• Identify design issues and implement improvements based on testing results and team feedback

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with hardware, software, and operations teams to align designs with product and manufacturing requirements
• Communicate design decisions and technical progress clearly
• Support a variety of engineering and prototyping tasks within a growing technology environment

Requirements

Experience

• Hands-on experience with CAD software for mechanical design
• Experience creating engineering drawings and tolerance specifications
• Practical PCB design experience from schematic to layout
• Experience working with electromechanical systems or sensor-integrated hardware

Nice to Have

• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
• Experience with prototyping and hardware validation
• Familiarity with material selection and mechanical assembly methods
• Experience working in robotics, automation, or advanced hardware startups

Language Requirements
