A Global IT Service/Data Engineer

A Global IT Service is looking for a Data Engineer. The group you will be joining is the Data Solution Group, which designs and implements the data and query logic that powers Analytics. 

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ETL processing for access logs on cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, Databricks)
- Design and develop data transformations that feed into analytics and reporting
- Provide analytics data to group-wide services such as search, recommendation, and advertising systems
- Troubleshoot issues in the data pipelines and analytics systems owned by the group
- Develop and evolve query logic for conversion attribution and cross-device / cross-session user-journey analysis
- Ensure correctness and consistency of analytics metrics (e.g. attribution rules, segment definitions) through validation and documentation
- Perform data QA: regression testing, validation of analytics outputs, and documentation of test cases
- Work with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and success metrics for new features
- Align with upstream data pipeline teams (e.g. log ingestion, identity resolution) and downstream consumers (e.g. reporting UI, other analytics features)
- Collaborate with product engineering, SRE, and support teams on design, cost/performance trade-offs, and release planning

Working hours: 9:00 - 17:30 (Mon-Fri)

- At least 5 years of work experience in development related to data pipelines, analytics platforms, or equivalent systems
- Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL/data pipelines (e.g. on GCP or Databricks)
- Strong SQL skills including analytical/window functions and CTEs, for both data transformation and reporting
- Basic knowledge of computer science (e.g. shell scripting, HTML, JavaScript, SQL)
- Understanding of web/app analytics concepts such as sessions and conversion
- Hands-on experience using generative AI and AI agents in daily work (e.g. creating project documentation with LLMs, coding with AI coding agents, or improving development/operations efficiency using AI agents with MCP or similar tooling)
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with data engineers and other technical stakeholders
