POSITION TITLE Field Services Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

A company in the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry is hiring for a Field Services Engineer position based in Boise. This organization supports advanced manufacturing environments by delivering high-reliability technical solutions and onsite expertise. The role offers hands-on involvement with sophisticated equipment and close collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams, making it a key position in maintaining operational excellence and customer trust.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide onsite installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for advanced manufacturing and processing equipment

  • Diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs, and document findings while following detailed procedures and strict safety requirements

  • Collaborate closely with customers, internal field support, production, and development teams to resolve issues under tight time constraints

  • Plan and propose measures to ensure stable and reliable equipment operation, including preventative and corrective actions

  • Train customers and service engineers on equipment operation and routine maintenance, including development of onsite training plans

  • Complete administrative and coordination tasks such as updating project plans, procedures, work orders, reports, and installation status

  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to deliver technical support and assist local teams, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering, or equivalent technical experience

  • Previous experience in customer-facing or field service technical roles

  • Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a demanding, time-sensitive environment

  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the ability to read schematics and piping diagrams

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow strict procedures

  • Proficiency in common office software applications

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass required background checks

  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship

LOCATION Boise, Idaho (Onsite)

EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-Time

SALARY USD 80,000 - 100,000
