POSITION SUMMARY
A global trading company specializing in food and consumer goods is seeking an experienced Import Distribution Manager to lead its U.S. import logistics operations. This role plays a critical part in optimizing end‑to‑end import flow, managing vendor and port relationships, enhancing compliance, and driving operational excellence across a nationwide supply chain network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute import, logistics, and distribution strategies aligned with organizational goals
Manage relationships with suppliers, port partners, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders
Lead import compliance, including liaison with CBP, FDA, and USDA
Oversee 3PL transportation, internal transfers, and port drayage
Optimize ocean container logistics to reduce demurrage and accessorial charges
Build KPI frameworks and standardized reporting dashboards
Improve inbound transportation efficiency across U.S. sites
Provide leadership, direction, and development to the import team
Design scalable solutions to support network growth
Oversee process documentation and operational SOPs
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Analytics, or related field
7+ years in an analytical or logistics‑focused role (distribution, logistics, or manufacturing preferred)
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
Strong understanding of import operations and U.S. regulatory processes
Knowledge of CBP regulations, Incoterms 2020, HTS classification
Experience with ERP/WMS/TMS environments
Strong capability in managing freight partners (ocean, air, ground, drayage, 3PL)
Experience developing SOPs and improving operational workflows
Ability to collaborate across departments and manage complex logistics programs
SALARY USD 90,000-120,000
