Our client, a well-established company in the retail industry, is seeking an Accounting Director for a hybrid role. This position offers the opportunity to lead the Record to Report sub-function within the Finance team, focusing on transformation and compliance with global accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Record to Report team in Japan and Asia Pacific
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and Japan GAAP
- Oversee tax and customs audits, liaise with Group Tax
- Manage internal stakeholders and change management programs
- Implement new local tax and RTR initiatives
- Review and validate accounting transactions and reports
- Monitor and meet Finance service KPIs and SLAs
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant or professional accounting qualification in Japan
- 10+ years in Accounting and Shared Services environment
- Experience with IFRS in retail environment
- SAP ERP experience and knowledge of Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC)
- Strong Japan GAAP and local compliance knowledge
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English
- Experience with tax audit and customs audit processes
- Experience in managing multinational teams
