Industrial Designer (Furniture & Household) - Tokyo, Japan

My client, specializes in linear-drive technology, offering height-adjustable desks, study tables and other healthy-office/home solutions. Its FlexiSpot brand leads global sales, while 19 self-run overseas warehouses provide one-stop cross-border logistics. With four production bases in China and Vietnam and over 1,200 patents, this company is a national high-tech leader exporting worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design and research and development of the company's global products (mainly: office furniture, sofas, home products, etc.), mainly focusing on the Japanese market, as well as the design of products in other markets such as the United States, Germany and Europe, to ensure compliance with brand positioning and market trends;
• Combine Japanese design aesthetics with oriental lifestyle, propose innovative design schemes that meet the needs of users, follow up the whole process from conceptual design, renderings, CMF to sample proofing, and ensure the design landing and quality presentation;
• Pay attention to international and Japanese domestic home design trends, and regularly output design research reports and inspiration references;
• Work closely with product managers, engineers, production and supply chain teams to ensure the realization of design solutions and cost control;
• Support marketing activities, participate in product display, design concept interpretation, and improve product selling points;
• Collect user feedback, continuously optimize product design, improve user experience and market competitiveness;
• Maintain the consistency of brand design style and participate in the style planning of the company's overall product line.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or above in industrial design, interior design, home design and other related majors;
• At least 3 years of experience in home/furniture design, with successful listed product cases preferred;
• Proficient in design software (such as Rhino, Keyshot, 3dmax, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.);
• Have in-depth understanding of household lifestyle, user needs and consumption trends, and have independent design and innovation capabilities;
• Have certain English communication ability and good cross-cultural communication ability, have Japanese-English bilingual, English ability is preferred, Chinese is better;
• Work carefully, with team spirit and high sense of responsibility;
• Be able to regularly go to Ningbo headquarters and other domestic manufacturing centers to follow up design projects and other product landing matters.
