COMPANY AND JOB OVERVIEW
A reputable engineering consultancy with a strong presence in the land development and infrastructure sector is looking for Country Manager (Malaysia) to head and grow its Malaysia operations. This is a strategic, high‑impact role for someone who enjoys building business, strengthening client relationships, and leading a team to deliver high‑quality work.
The role will cover a blend of business development, engineering oversight, team management, and operational leadership, with the autonomy to influence how the organization grows in Malaysia.
Strategic & Business Leadership: Contribute to business strategy, future planning, and market direction.
Operational Management: Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth coordination across marketing, sales, finance, safety, and internal processes.
Sales and Marketing: Lead Business Development activities, Client Engagements, and secure new tenders, especially within land/township development, or infrastructure projects.
Engineering & Project Director: Take on Director role and duties in client’s sub-engineering entity, including QA/QC oversight, provide guidance on project issues and engineering certifications.
People & Performance Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the Malaysian team, oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, and succession planning, foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure consistent adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures, aligning with industry best practices and all applicable Malaysian regulatory requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
A strong foundation in civil infrastructure is preferred, though exceptional civil structural experience will also be considered.
Registered as a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC)(Civil) under the Board of Engineers Malaysia, specifically Civil.
Strong communicator, relationship‑builder, and natural leader.
