Job Description
 

As part of this role, you will:

• Build, maintain, and manage the reputation of the company in Japan through strategic communication campaigns, media relations, and stakeholder engagement
• Be based in Tokyo, managing both internal and external communications for Japan, with support from the global communications team
• Report to the JAPAC Communications Lead and partner closely with core business functions across the organization
• Bring 8–10 years of communications experience, either from a PR agency or an in-house PR background, preferably with exposure to tech communications

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the global communications team to plan, develop, and implement internal and external communications strategies for Japan
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, and the media
• Conduct media interviews, develop press releases for targeted media, and organize events for Japanese media
• Work closely with the Marketing team to convert customer stories into media outcomes
• Review external content from customers or partners that mentions the company, ensuring accuracy
• Support internal communications initiatives and events in Japan
• Collaborate with the Design Advocate team to foster strong community relations

Skills

• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English, with the ability to write clear and engaging messages
• An extensive network within Japanese media and key stakeholder groups
• Creativity, imagination, and initiative to develop innovative PR campaigns
• Strong organization and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to navigate varied scenarios
• High attention to detail to ensure consistency across all communications
• Strong business awareness and a deep understanding of current affairs in Japan
• Strategic thinking capability to plan and execute successful PR campaigns in Japan
