Purpose of the Role:
As the Branch Manager of our Rotterdam fulfilment and logistics center, you will be fully responsible for site leadership, financial performance, service quality, and team management.
This role requires both strategic thinking and operational execution to ensure the center functions as a critical hub for our international logistics and B2B/e-commerce fulfilment operations in Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of branch management including warehousing, logistics, and administrative functions
Take full P&L ownership for the Rotterdam site and drive performance toward financial targets
Monitor and improve key operational KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, cost control, and customer satisfaction
Manage relationships with key clients and ensure high-quality service for both existing and new accounts
Supervise daily fulfilment, cross-border shipping, customs handling, and last-mile delivery activities
Lead organizational management including staffing, hiring, performance evaluations, and leadership development
Act as the key communication link between local operations and headquarters in Amsterdam
Manage and negotiate contracts with external partners including 3PLs, customs brokers, and couriers
Ensure full compliance with EU trade regulations, VAT rules, and company policies
Analyze local market trends and provide recommendations for improvement or business growth opportunities
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in Logistics, Business, or International Trade
Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics, international shipping, or warehouse operations
Proven experience as a Branch Manager, Site Director, or similar senior operational leadership role
Experience working within the EU region is preferred
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership with the ability to balance strategic planning and hands-on execution
Solid experience managing multicultural teams and developing middle management
Strong command of financial management, P&L accountability, and KPI tracking
Fluent in English (spoken and written); Native level of Dutch
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable navigating operational issues, client escalations, and team dynamics
