About the role

The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the principal training resource for a datacenter campus or metro location. In addition to providing training, job functions may include problem resolution, service enhancement, and process improvement as it pertains to safety and training. The field training officer reports directly to the Field Training Manager (FTM), and will work closely with other sites, regional, and headquarter leadership. This position will have no direct reports but will work closely with campus leadership to assess employees, site, and campus needs.

このポジションには直属の部下（ダイレクトレポート）はありませんが、キャンパスのリーダーシップチームと密接に連携し、従業員、各サイト、およびキャンパス全体のニーズを把握・評価します。

What you’ll do

In this role, you will support and serve as the main primary point of contact for onboarding and sustainment training. You will train and certify new security personnel and maintain required training documentation, asking for assistance from Administrative Officers (AOs) with on-the-job (OTJ) tasks related to new security personnel as needed. You will perform ongoing training and evaluation for security personnel as needed to maintain a high security standard for all officers, and you will be responsible for tracking various trainings (Production, sustainment, new site starts and other performance and role related training gaps as identified by the site leadership team) completion for all security personnel.

• 新任の警備員に対するトレーニングおよび認定を実施し、必要な研修記録・書類を適切に管理する。
• 新任警備員に関連するOJT（On-the-Job Training：実務を通じた研修）業務について、必要に応じてAdministrative Officers（AO）に支援を依頼する。
• 必要に応じて警備員に対する継続的なトレーニングおよび評価を実施し、すべての警備員が高いセキュリティ基準を維持できるようにする。
• 各種研修の受講・修了状況を管理・追跡する。対象となる研修には、以下が含まれる。
  • Production Training
  • Sustainment Training（継続研修）
  • 新規サイト立ち上げに伴う研修
  • その他、サイトのリーダーシップチームが特定した、パフォーマンスや職務上のスキルに関する研修ギャップを補うための研修

要するに、FTOは新任警備員の入社時研修から継続的な教育・評価、研修履歴の管理までを一貫して担当し、警備員全体のスキルとセキュリティ水準を維持・向上させる役割です。

You will prioritize safety awareness among the campus team and champions safety initiatives developed at the global and regional program level, and coordinate with local leadership and PMO training team to develop site plans and roll out training.

Recommends onboarding and training scheduled in accordance with training needs for security staff to the Field Training Manager, Branch, site and campus security managers. You will assist with audit compliance as it relates to training and conduct recurring training audits and prepare and submit critical and confidential information to campus site leadership. You will maintain required training and safety documentation, ensuring accuracy in accordance with established policies and procedures and provide feedback on competence, compliance, and morale to the campus site leadership.

You will identify security shortfalls and offer suggestions for improving the security program and evaluate and escalate potential safety issues within the facility to the site security leadership. You are expected to know and follow safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations and notify supervisor upon becoming aware of unsafe working conditions.

必要な研修および安全関連の書類・記録を適切に管理し、定められたポリシーや手順に従って、その正確性を確保します。また、警備スタッフの能力、コンプライアンス遵守状況、およびモチベーション・士気について、キャンパスのサイトリーダーシップチームにフィードバックを行います。

さらに、セキュリティ上の不足・課題（Security Shortfalls）を特定し、セキュリティプログラムを改善するための提案を行います。施設内で発生する可能性のある安全上の問題を評価し、必要に応じてサイトのSecurity Leadershipへエスカレーションします。

また、安全な作業方法を理解し、それを遵守することが求められます。職務上の安全に関する会社のポリシーや手順、ならびに安全規則・規制を理解し、遵守する必要があります。安全でない作業環境に気付いた場合には、速やかに上司へ報告することも求められます。

要するに

この部分では、FTOに対して単なる「研修担当者」ではなく、

① 安全意識の向上 → ② 研修計画・実施 → ③ 研修監査・コンプライアンス → ④ 警備員の能力・士気の評価 → ⑤ セキュリティ上の課題発見・改善提案 → ⑥ 安全上の問題のエスカレーション

までを担うことが期待されています。

したがって、このFTOは**「トレーナー」というより、現場のSecurity TrainingとSafetyを横断的に管理・改善する専門職**と捉えると分かりやすいです。

What you need to apply

To apply for this role, you should have an associate’s degree and 2 or more years of experience in the security industry and/or business management, 2 years of training experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Experience in data centers and training development preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Excel is required. You must possess reliable communication and transportation.

特に重要なのは、FTOとして、単に警備経験があるだけでなく、**「セキュリティ／マネジメント経験＋トレーニング経験」**が求められている点です。

また、データセンター経験と研修プログラム開発経験は “preferred” なので必須ではなく、あれば望ましいという位置づけです。

The extra stuff

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and possess the legal right to work in the job location. A valid driver’s license or access to reliable means of transportation is required. Candidates must hold a valid passport or have the ability to obtain a passport immediately.

Travel between sites up to 50% of the time, occasionally with limited notice may be required in the role, as well as working evening or weekend hours when required, such as during an emergency or high-priority event. Candidates must also be willing to undergo the company’s pre-employment screening process, which includes a background check and drug screening.

You must be able to maintain professionalism and composure in urgent or high-pressure situations and handle sensitive or confidential information responsibly.
