Science Edge Inc. is a cutting-edge Japanese technology startup specializing in the development, manufacturing, and sales of innovative optical measurement devices, spectroscopic analysis systems, and specialized control software. Founded on May 1, 2015, the company is co-managed by founders from Osaka University: Tomoya Uchiyama (Representative Director & CEO) and Taisuke Ohta (Representative Director & CTO). Operating entirely on self-funding without external venture capital, the company has steadily built a robust business foundation step by step.

The core competence of Science Edge lies in its advanced optical and microscopy technologies, specifically refined laser microscopy and spectroscopy. In 2022, the company achieved a groundbreaking milestone by successfully commercializing the world's first frequency-domain thermoreflectance (FDTR) microscope, commercialized as the "InFocus κ FDTR." This highly innovative thermal property analysis system won the prestigious "Excellent New Technology and New Product Award" in Japan, solidifying Science Edge’s reputation as a pioneer in the global optical instrumentation market.
