Mitsui Bussan Aerospace Co., Ltd.

Mitsui Bussan Aerospace is a trading company specializing in aerospace, defense, and security systems wholly owned by Mitsui. Since its establishment in 1982, we have contributed to the public activities of our customers, mainly government offices, news organizations, and public interest companies, as well as efforts to develop the aerospace, defense, and security industries through importing and selling aircraft equipment such as helicopters, business jets, infrared dark vision systems, aircraft engine parts, security and surveillance security systems and related services, and the provision of after-sales support including parts supply and repair.

In July 2019, we inherited the microsatellite release business from the International Space Station Japan module “Kibou” from Mitsui Bussan and re-entered the space business.

Using the acquisition of a US company called Spaceflight, which works on small and ultra-small artificial satellite launch and release ride-sharing business, in 2020 as an opportunity, in 2021, we acquired sales agency rights for services.
At the same time, we are working to expand the space business, such as by forming a business alliance with Axiom of the United States, which is working on the development of a private space station with Mitsui Bussan.

In addition, we see the big environmental changes brought about by the serious social issues such as decarbonization and declining birthrate and aging population and the rapid technological progress including digitalization accelerated by the corona disaster as a business opportunity, and we have adopted the latest technology. In addition to starting sales of higher value-added products and services such as the handling of products, supply of subscribing parts by DX, and high-precision cloud-type monitoring services that apply AI analysis, the coming electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft in collaboration with Mitsui Bussan. We are laying the groundwork for future growth, such as working on various proof-of-concepts (POCs) for the era of popularization of drones.
