1959年、エンジニアだった創業者のカーステン・ソルハイム(Karsten Solheim)は、自宅のガレージでクラブ作りをスタートしました。
特に自身が苦手としていたパターの製作に没頭。名器と称えられる「1-A」パターが誕生し、
やがて彼が次々と生み出すクラブはプロプレーヤーの間でも評判となりました。
1967年に現在の母体となる「KARSTEN MANUFACTURING CORPORATION」を設立。
