Position: Financial Controller

Overview

The Financial Controller is responsible for statutory accounting, taxation, and financial control activities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies. This role partners closely with headquarters, Global Business Services (GBS), and external advisors to maintain accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting

• Lead balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations (ARCS)
• Perform balance sheet fluctuation analysis and reporting
• Approve journal entries and ensure accounting integrity
• Act as revenue controller, overseeing revenue recognition and EOJ approvals

Statutory Accounting & Compliance

• Manage statutory accounting adjustments and period-end cut-offs
• Oversee R&D charge-outs, software asset GAAP adjustments, and WIP accounting
• Coordinate annual Government Gazette filings
• Manage central bank filings for cross-border payments
• Administer pension assets and act as primary contact with custodians

Taxation

• Coordinate Corporate Income Tax (CIT) processes with external advisors, including tax returns and payments
• Oversee VAT filings, monthly VAT reconciliations, and payments
• Manage withholding tax filings, payments, and reconciliations
• Handle fixed asset tax and business premises tax filings and payments
• Act as key contact for tax investigations

Cash, Banking & Country Operations

• Manage local bank relationships, bank balances, and reconciliations
• Act as point of contact for insurance contracts

GBS & Stakeholder Management

• Oversee AR collection forecasting and collection activities
• Coordinate AP processing with GBS teams
• Manage payment holds and statutory/mandatory payments
• Lead invoice distribution resources

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Strong experience in financial controlling, statutory accounting, and taxation
• Solid knowledge of Japanese GAAP and local tax regulations
• Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors
• Strong communication skills in Japanese and English both.

• 年金資産の管理およびカストディアンとの主要窓口として対応

税務

• 外部アドバイザーと連携した法人税（CIT）の申告・納税業務の調整
• VAT（消費税）の申告、月次調整、納付の管理
• 源泉税の申告、納付、調整の管理
• 固定資産税および事業所税の申告・納付の管理
• 税務調査対応の主要窓口

キャッシュ・銀行業務・カントリーオペレーション

• 銀行との関係管理、預金残高および照合の管理
• 保険契約に関する窓口業務

GBSおよびステークホルダーマネジメント

• 売掛金回収予測および回収活動の統括
• GBSチームとの買掛金処理の調整
• 支払保留および法定/必須支払いの管理
• 請求書配布リソースの管理

応募資格

• 会計、ファイナンス、または関連分野の学士号
• 財務管理、法定会計、税務に関する豊富な経験
• 日本基準（J-GAAP）および現地税法の確かな知識
• 外部監査法人・税務アドバイザーとの業務経験
• 日本語・英語での優れたコミュニケーション能力
