Job requirements:

13+ years of IT experience, 5+ years of practical experience in Azure database migration, and proven track record of leading a team with technical guidance, management, and control. 24/7 support available, flexible to accommodate shift work.

Key skills:

Understanding of customer DB SQL, Windows and Linux server environments. 
Configuring SQL Server High Availability/Disaster Recovery (FCI, AG) in multi-subnet/multi-region environments in Azure, configuring availability sets.
Configuring and managing security/policy/resource governance/Azure Key Vault.
Migrating on-premise SQL Server to Azure cloud using DMA, DMS, Azure Data Studio, log forwarding, backup/restore and various other migration methods.  
Working with internal stakeholders, customer stakeholders and project managers to understand migration requirements and provide solutions accordingly.  
Driving Azure cloud solution activities for large scale and complex migrations.  
Planning storage and capacity management, creating logical models and building physical models.  
Installing and configuring all versions of SQL Server (200x-2022).  
Hands-on experience in resolving and troubleshooting Windows and SQL Server issues. 
 

Secondary Skills:

Design, implement, and operate database systems in Azure with performance and reliability in mind.
On-premise/cloud migration from legacy to latest versions of SQL Server in Azure environments.
Strong knowledge of T-SQL and PowerShell scripts.
Deep understanding of database performance using various tools.
Meet client compliance requirements and expectations.
Certification (preferable).
