Hiring Company:

A global insurance company serving customers in more than 50 countries, with an established presence in Japan.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, train, deploy and optimize AI/ML models using Databricks, Python and Azure.
• Build AI/ML workflows covering data preparation, feature engineering, model training and deployment.
• Use MLflow for experiment tracking and model lifecycle management.
• Develop predictive analytics solutions for insurance-related business applications.
• Apply AI and data governance practices, including model monitoring, access controls and data lineage.
• Develop Generative AI and LLM-based applications using technologies such as Azure OpenAI or Databricks AI capabilities.
• Build Python APIs and integrate AI solutions with enterprise data platforms and applications.
• Monitor and improve production models and pipelines in collaboration with engineering and business teams.

Required Skills:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Databricks, including AI/ML development and Azure integration.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience developing and deploying machine learning models.
• Understanding of machine learning, predictive analytics, feature engineering and model deployment.
• Experience with MLflow, MLOps or similar model lifecycle management tools.
• Knowledge of AI/data governance, including Unity Catalog, access management, data lineage and model governance.
• Experience with Azure cloud services and enterprise data platforms.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience developing Generative AI or LLM-based applications.
• Familiarity with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry or Databricks AI capabilities.
• Experience with production model monitoring, responsible AI practices and enterprise API integration.

Working Hours:

Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:00

Working Style:

Hybrid: 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office.

Location: Tokyo.

Employment Type:

Initially 12 months, with potential extensions. A longer-term engagement of approximately 3–4 years is anticipated but not guaranteed.

Holidays:

Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and paid leave.

Services / Benefits:

• Monthly compensation: JPY 700,000–900,000
• Approximate annual equivalent: JPY 8.4M–10.8M
• Transportation expenses up to JPY 20,000 per month
