Our client is a global life insurance firm with a growing business in Japan and a strong focus on data and analytics.
They are hiring a Data Architect / Data Governance Team Lead to drive enterprise data architecture, data governance and a large-scale data migration from legacy to new systems.
Main duties
- Design current and future data architecture on an Azure-based platform (landing, staging, refined layers)
- Lead large data migration and MDM projects: mapping, validation, audit logs and quality controls
- Guide ETL/ELT pipeline design (Databricks, Informatica, Python)
- Set governance rules for data modelling, data quality, metadata, catalog and MDM
- Lead a team of data engineers and architects and work with IT, business teams and vendors

- Led large-scale data migration projects
- Strong experience in MDM, metadata management and data governance
- Deep RDB modelling skills (star schema, SCD); OLTP and OLAP
- Cloud data platform experience (storage, Databricks, databases)
- Python and Databricks
- Led a team of data engineers or architects
- Strong written and spoken Japanese and English
