About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a fast-growing technology-driven financial services company seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the organization's operational, compliance, governance, and people functions.
The company has built a scalable, system-driven operating platform and is entering its next phase of growth. As the business matures, the leadership team is seeking a senior executive who can establish and maintain an institutional-grade operating environment that functions independently of founder involvement.
Instead, the COO will become the operational backbone of the organization, overseeing corporate operations, compliance, governance, HR, and regulatory matters while helping prepare the company for future strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
✅Operational Leadership
Lead and oversee day-to-day business operations across the company
Build a sustainable operating framework that enables the organization to scale independently
Manage and optimize back-office processes, internal controls, vendor management, and corporate administration
Drive operational excellence and organizational discipline
Establish clear ownership, approval processes, and governance structures
✅Compliance & Regulatory Affairs
Own and oversee the company's compliance and regulatory framework
Manage regulatory reporting, filings, and financial supervisory requirements
Coordinate communications and responses involving financial regulators and external stakeholders
Strengthen internal control systems and risk management processes
Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable financial regulations and policies
✅Corporate Governance & Risk Management
Maintain and enhance governance processes appropriate for a regulated financial business
Partner with external auditors, legal counsel, compliance advisors, and consultants
Manage corporate documentation, policies, board materials, and governance procedures
Identify operational, regulatory, and organizational risks and implement mitigation plans
✅M&A, Due Diligence & Corporate Readiness
Lead operational preparedness for strategic transactions, partnerships, investments, and potential M&A activities
Coordinate internal and external due diligence processes
Organize and maintain operational, compliance, and governance documentation
Ensure investor, auditor, and acquirer readiness across the organization
✅Human Resources & People Operations
Oversee HR operations, hiring processes, organizational development, and people policies
Improve employee onboarding, performance management, and internal communication structures
Build scalable operating practices to support future growth
Partner closely with leadership on organizational design and succession planning
Who We're Looking For
This role is ideal for a proven operator rather than a founder-type entrepreneur.
We are seeking someone who has successfully managed operations within either:
✅Financial Institutions
Asset Management Firms, Securities Companies, Investment Advisory Firms
Tech Financial Advisory Platforms, Wealth Management Businesses and FinTech Companies
✅High-Growth Technology Companies
Consumer Internet Platforms, Marketplace Businesses, Mobile App Companies and Technology Scale-ups
Required Qualifications
10+ years of professional experience
Experience leading operations, compliance, governance, HR, business operations, or corporate management functions
Strong understanding of regulated business environments
Demonstrated experience managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders
Ability to independently make operational decisions and assume executive-level accountability
Strong communication and organizational leadership skills
Experience building scalable and process-driven organizations
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within financial services, investment management, securities, or fintech organizations
Experience supporting external audits, regulatory inspections, or compliance reviews
Experience leading operational due diligence projects
Experience supporting M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, or strategic partnerships
Familiarity with technology-enabled businesses and digital platforms
Experience scaling operations within a high-growth company environment
