PR/110746 | Sr. Engineer- Purchase

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer - Purchase to manage procurement activities, vendor development, and supply chain coordination. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely procurement of quality materials while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance. The role requires strong negotiation skills, technical understanding of manufacturing processes, and hands-on ERP/SAP experience. 

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard potential suppliers based on organizational requirements.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and raw material manufacturers.

• Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives.

• Conduct supplier audits and vendor assessments.

• Schedule and coordinate vendor visits and management reviews. 

• Source raw materials, components, and services as per project and production requirements.

• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders (WOs) with detailed terms and conditions.

• Obtain necessary internal approvals for procurement activities.

• Ensure timely procurement while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

• Prepare Techno-Commercial Comparative Statements for supplier evaluation. 

• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial agreements.

• Finalize contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and business objectives.

• Manage supplier agreements and ensure compliance with contractual commitments. 

• Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

• Ensure supplied materials meet engineering and customer standards.

• Coordinate with Quality, Production, Engineering, and Stores teams to resolve supplier-related issues.

• Support supplier quality improvement initiatives. 

• Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.

• Ensure continuity of supply through alternate sourcing strategies.

• Track market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier capabilities. 

• Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.

• Experience in SAP/ERP systems.

• Knowledge of raw materials and manufacturing processes.

• Understanding of: 

  • Sheet Metal Manufacturing

  • Welding Processes

  • Pipe Manufacturing

  • Fabrication Processes

• Techno-commercial evaluation and cost analysis.

• Vendor development and supplier audits.

• MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
