JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
Act as customer representative when dealing with service providers/external vendors
Deliver Strategic System /Approvals / Sourcing/ Delivery/ Operational/ Business Study, Change and/or Projects together with Departmental Heads as required.
Engineering Studies
Define Basis of Design, Execution Strategy, Business case for Capital, OEE, Sustaining and Improvement projects
Manage the planning and delivery of the area/packages/discipline/readiness and/or project - taking an active role in leading process and procedure in the delivery of the area/packages/discipline/system/readiness and/or project. Manage tasks in accordance with cost budgets and schedule.
Developing & implement project plans & monitoring progress in respect of time, costs & quality;
Controlling & optimizing the allocation of human & physical resources in respect of engineering, supervision & procurement activities across studies and projects
Leads the identification of potential operational and delivery risks and the development and implementation mitigation strategies to ensure service level is maintained.
Identify potential safety, cost, time, quality, procurement or HR issues & taking corrective action
Seek company/stakeholder approval for changes to scope
Prepare briefings, submissions, presentations and develop business cases to support the achievement of business objectives.
Provides routine and ad hoc reports on the operational/system/ management performance of the area/packages/ discipline/system/ readiness and/or project to highlight any trends, forecasts or risks that require management intervention and/or strategic solutions for further action.
Progressively Manage Contractor progress, performance, schedule, and compliance
Assist with developing execution plans, scopes of work, and schedules
Support procurement and coordination of materials, services, and documentation.
General
Facilitates strong working relationships with key stakeholders to support collaboration, the exchange of information and issues management to build on existing relationships and influence outcomes.
Work closely with the team to ensure deliverables and targets are being facilitated and met
Developing teams & individual competence
PMO & Engineering
Support Company Regional and Company Global offices and facilities in execution of Engineering, Studies, Detail Design and Execution including travel, attendance and other support as required.
Support Company Strategic Partners in execution of Engineering, Studies, Detail Design and Execution as directed.
Establishment of a Malaysia Center of Engineering Delivery in line with the PMO & Engineering Practice
Focal point and Support for KL based Global SME’s
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
Minimum 20 years of technical and commercial experience within engineering, industrial, metallurgical, chemical processing, or heavy industrial environments.
Proven experience in engineering, design, construction, commissioning, operations, and project delivery.
Strong track record managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects and study teams.
Demonstrated leadership experience in driving operational performance, project execution, and business improvement initiatives.
Strong knowledge of engineering management systems, project planning, risk management, and change management.
Experience working within complex stakeholder environments, including contractors, consultants, operations teams, and senior leadership.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams while operating effectively within a matrix organisation.
Experience within metallurgical, chemical processing, resources, mining, industrial processing, or related sectors will be highly advantageous.
Professional Engineering (PE) registration, postgraduate qualifications, or project management certifications will be an added advantage.
