Senior Associate, M&A シニアアソシエイト | JPY 16M+, 2 days WFH

Overview

We are partnering exclusively with a leading global law firm with an established Tokyo presence, expanding its M&A function with a newly created Senior Associate role. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex cross-border M&A transactions and collaborate closely with international teams. The role includes a competitive salary of JPY 18M+, flexible work hours, and two days of remote work per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions
• Manage M&A transaction processes and timelines
• Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients
• Collaborate with international legal teams on cross-border matters
• Lead due diligence and contract negotiation for M&A deals
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during transactions
• Ensure compliance with Japanese corporate and securities laws in transactions
• Support business development by identifying new M&A opportunities

Requirements:

• Bengoshi qualification
• 4-7 years PQE with strong M&A focus
• Native Japanese and fluent English proficiency
• Experience in Energy, Financial Services, or Technology/AI sectors
• Strong project management skills
• Strong client relationship management skills
• Experience advising on cross-border M&A transactions
• Ability to collaborate with international legal teams
• Experience working in a highly international legal environment is preferred but not mandatory
