Company Overview

An international architectural design practice with operations in Australia and Malaysia, specializing in the delivery of large scale residential, mixed use, commercial, and master planned developments. The firm collaborates with multidisciplinary consultant teams and international stakeholders to deliver high quality architectural solutions from concept design through construction. As part of its expansion plans, the company is establishing a Kuala Lumpur office to support its growing project portfolio across Australia and the region.

Job Overview

The Architectural Technician will play a key role in supporting the documentation and delivery of architectural projects across various stages of development, including design development, authority submissions, tender documentation, and construction documentation. The role is responsible for producing accurate BIM models, coordinating consultant documentation, maintaining quality standards, and supporting Project Architects in the successful execution of projects. The successful candidate will work closely with international design teams and gain exposure to landmark developments across Australia and Malaysia. 

 

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate architectural documentation using Revit and AutoCAD across all project stages.

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate BIM models throughout design, documentation, and construction phases.

  • Prepare design development drawings, construction documentation, authority submission packages, tender documentation, and presentation materials.

  • Coordinate architectural documentation with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other specialist consultants.

  • Ensure documentation complies with relevant Australian and Malaysian building regulations, standards, and project requirements.

  • Assist with construction detailing, material selections, and the development of technical design solutions.

  • Review consultant drawings and incorporate coordinated changes into BIM models and project documentation.

  • Maintain drawing registers, revision control processes, and office documentation standards.

  • Participate in internal design reviews, BIM coordination sessions, and technical meetings.

  • Support Project Architects with design development, technical problem-solving, and project delivery activities.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of BIM standards, workflows, and office documentation procedures.

  • Manage multiple tasks and project deliverables while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

 

Key Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in architectural documentation and technical delivery.

  • High level of proficiency in Revit with strong BIM modelling capabilities.

  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and architectural documentation processes.

  • Excellent understanding of construction detailing, building systems, and consultant coordination.

  • Knowledge of architectural documentation standards, quality assurance procedures, and revision control processes.

  • Experience preparing construction documentation, authority submissions, and tender documentation packages.

  • Understanding of Australian NCC requirements and/or Malaysian UBBL regulations will be an added advantage.

  • Experience with BIM360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar collaboration platforms is desirable.

  • Familiarity with Rhino, Enscape, D5 Render, Adobe Creative Suite, or related software will be advantageous.

  • Strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills.

  • Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet project deadlines.

  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, solutions-focused, and committed to continuous professional development.

  • Previous experience in residential, mixed-use, high-rise, luxury residential, build-to-rent, or master-planned developments will be advantageous.
