Company Overview
A leading global electronics manufacturing solutions provider is seeking an experienced Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead its EHS function across multiple manufacturing facilities in Penang.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and maintain the Environmental, Health & Safety Management System across all manufacturing facilities.
Drive successful implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 requirements.
Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Conduct EHS Committee meetings and drive closure of action items.
Review and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and SOPs.
Promote a strong EHS culture and awareness throughout the organization.
Plan and oversee workplace safety and health monitoring programs, including CHRA, hearing conservation, machinery inspections, and occupational health activities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of EHS programs and implement improvement actions where required.
Ensure regular EHS inspections are conducted across all facilities.
Lead incident, accident, near-miss, and first aid case investigations, ensuring timely corrective actions.
Manage environmental compliance programs and environmental performance data.
Plan and oversee environmental monitoring activities, including air emissions, noise monitoring, effluent discharge monitoring, and other regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely submission of reports to relevant authorities.
Oversee scheduled waste management in accordance with Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations.
Ensure emergency response plans are maintained and tested regularly.
Coordinate fire drills, chemical spill response exercises, and emergency preparedness programs.
Ensure Emergency Response Team (ERT) training and equipment inspections are conducted as scheduled.
Develop and coordinate EHS training programs for employees and contractors.
Identify competency gaps and training requirements within the EHS team
Promote continuous learning and safety awareness initiatives.
Lead internal audits and compliance inspections related to ISO 14001 and regulatory requirements.
Ensure timely submission of mandatory reports to authorities such as DOSH, DOE, and other relevant agencies.
Prepare and maintain EHS documentation, records, reports, and compliance registers.
Monitor corrective actions and evaluate their effectiveness.
Drive Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives toward achieving Zero Accident goals.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) is highly preferred.
DOE Registered Competent Person (CePSWaM) is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS leadership, management, or supervisory roles within a manufacturing environment.
Experience managing EHS programs, audits, compliance requirements, and environmental initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and other regulatory authorities.
Strong understanding of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
Experience in scheduled waste management, environmental monitoring, and occupational health programs.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to drive cross-functional EHS initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
