An established insurance organization is seeking an Underwriter to join its Accident & Health (A&H) team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of intermediaries, build strong broker and client relationships, and contribute to profitable portfolio growth. Fresh graduates with a keen interest in insurance underwriting are welcomed to apply.
Key ResponsibilitiesUnderwrite new Accident & Health (A&H) insurance business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines and company objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, financial advisory firms, brokers, and insured clients.
Provide underwriting advice, policy servicing, and support on A&H insurance matters.
Review and assess renewal policies, including analysis of claims experience and risk performance.
Monitor and manage assigned portfolio performance to achieve profitability and growth targets.
Support and mentor junior team members where appropriate.
Collaborate closely with underwriting colleagues and other internal stakeholders to deliver effective solutions and service standards.
Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned by management.
Fresh graduates with a strong interest in insurance underwriting are encouraged to apply.
Relevant qualifications in Insurance, Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related disciplines are preferred.
Possess, or be willing to obtain, MAS-required certifications and qualifications for advising on insurance matters.
Good understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment, particularly within Accident & Health insurance, is advantageous.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Self-motivated team player with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Eagerness to learn, develop technical expertise, and build a long-term career within the insurance industry.
