Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Molding PED Engineer with hands-on experience in Injection Molding Production and Process Risk Analysis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing molding operations, developing and maintaining PFMEA documentation, supporting quality initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in line with automotive industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage injection molding production activities and lead the molding team to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.

  • Prepare and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) in accordance with AIAG-VDA FMEA methodology and IATF 16949 requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance, and New Product Development (NPD) to identify process risks and implement preventive actions.

  • Develop and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Control Plans, Work Instructions, and related process documentation aligned with PFMEA requirements.

  • Analyze production issues such as defects, rejection trends, customer complaints, and downtime to drive corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support APQP, PPAP, customer audits, and internal audits by providing PFMEA documentation and risk assessment reports.

  • Ensure effective linkage between PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, and 8D problem-solving activities.

  • Conduct periodic PFMEA reviews and updates based on engineering changes, new molds, materials, customer requirements, or process modifications.

  • Train production personnel and supervisors on PFMEA methodology, process discipline, and risk-based thinking.

  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSR), automotive quality standards, and organizational procedures.

Required Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Injection Molding Processes, Tooling, and Process Parameters.

  • Proven experience in PFMEA preparation and risk assessment activities.

  • Good understanding of:

    • AIAG-VDA FMEA Methodology

    • APQP

    • PPAP

    • Control Plans

    • MSA

    • SPC

  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems including:

    • IATF 16949

    • ISO 9001

    • Customer-Specific Requirements (CSR)

Problem-Solving Skills
  • Hands-on experience with:

    • 5 Why Analysis

    • Fishbone Diagram

    • DMAIC Methodology

    • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

    • Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA)

Software Skills
  • MS Excel and MS Office Suite

  • FMEA software/tools such as:

    • APIS IQ-FMEA

    • IQ-RM

    • Excel-based FMEA Templates

Preferred Candidate Profile
  • Experience in automotive injection molding or plastic component manufacturing.

  • Exposure to customer and certification audits.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and drive process improvements.
