JAC's client, a global mobility services firm, is looking for a Legal Counsel & Data Privacy position.
Location: Ho Chi Minh City
Job Responsibilities
Serve as a member of the global Office of General Counsel (OGC) and Data Privacy Office (DPO), reporting directly to the Associate General Counsel.
Manage day-to-day legal, data privacy, and compliance matters across Vietnam and the APAC region.
Provide legal and privacy support to APAC offices while collaborating with OGC and DPO teams in the US, EMEA, and LATAM on international projects.
Advise business leaders on data privacy and commercial law matters, offering practical and commercially focused solutions to complex legal and business challenges.
Act as the primary and lead point of contact for internal stakeholders and external parties, including clients and regulatory authorities, regarding audit and privacy-related inquiries and escalations in Vietnam.
Handle and coordinate daily global data privacy exceptions, including:
- Responding to privacy-related issues and requests.
- Conducting investigations and assessments.
- Maintaining logs and documentation.
- Preparing reports and status updates.
- Coordinating notifications and communications.
- Supporting privacy awareness and training activities.
Job Requirements
At least 3 years of experience gained from private practice and/or in-house experience in corporate and data privacy
Bachelor of Law degree in Vietnam and above, preferably passed Bar Examination
Fluency in English and Vietnamese (spoken, reading and writing)
A solid understanding of privacy law in Vietnam and APAC, international data privacy law and practical application across complex systems. CIPP certification would be a plus.
Experience in corporate, commercial contracts, employment law and corporate compliance preferred.
Must be a good team player. Able to work under pressure.
Excellent interpersonal, relationship management and communication skills. Understanding cultural differences and ways of working.
