A leading global medical technology company is expanding its Research & Development (R&D) footprint in Penang as part of its worldwide innovation network. We are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Program Manager, Modules & Components to lead New Product Introduction (NPI) and Lifecycle Management (LCM) initiatives within our growing R&D organization.
This is an exciting opportunity to drive the development of innovative modules and components that support next-generation healthcare solutions. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional project teams, collaborate with global engineering partners, and ensure successful project execution from concept through commercialization in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end R&D projects involving module and component development across NPI and LCM programs.
Establish and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Drive cross-functional collaboration among hardware, software, systems, quality, regulatory, operations, manufacturing, and external stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and proactively manage issues, risks, dependencies, and change control activities.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and performance objectives.
Facilitate effective governance, stakeholder communication, and executive-level project reporting.
Support design transfer, industrialization, manufacturing readiness, and product launch activities.
Ensure adherence to established product development processes, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
Partner with global R&D teams to align project priorities, resources, and technical deliverables.
Contribute to the growth of the Penang R&D Center by strengthening project management best practices and organizational capabilities.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum 3 years of project management experience within a product development or engineering environment.
Experience in medical devices, life sciences instrumentation, diagnostics, laboratory automation, healthcare technology, or other regulated industries is highly preferred.
Demonstrated success leading module, subsystem, component, or product development projects from concept to commercialization.
Proven ability to work effectively within global, matrixed, and cross-functional organizations.
Strong understanding of product development processes, stage-gate methodologies, and project management best practices.
Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering environments involving mechanical, electronics, software, and systems integration development.
Experience supporting design transfer, industrialization, manufacturing scale-up, or product launch activities is advantageous.
PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to influence decision-making and drive alignment across diverse technical and business teams.
