An international architectural design practice with operations in Australia and Malaysia, specializing in the delivery of large scale residential, mixed use, commercial, and master planned developments. The firm collaborates with multidisciplinary consultant teams and international stakeholders to deliver high quality architectural solutions from concept design through construction. As part of its expansion plans, the company is establishing a Kuala Lumpur office to support its growing project portfolio across Australia and the region.
Job OverviewThe Senior Project Architect will play a key leadership role in managing and delivering architectural projects across various stages of development, including design development, tender documentation, and construction documentation. The role is responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary consultants, ensuring technical excellence, maintaining project quality standards, and mentoring team members. The successful candidate will work closely with Directors and project stakeholders while contributing to the growth and development of the Kuala Lumpur office.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the delivery of architectural projects from design development through construction documentation and project completion.
Manage project resources, timelines, deliverables, and technical coordination to ensure successful project execution.
Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams, including structural, civil, MEP, landscape, and specialist consultants.
Prepare, review, and oversee architectural drawings, technical documentation, specifications, and project reports.
Ensure compliance with relevant Malaysian and Australian building regulations, codes, authority requirements, and approval processes.
Conduct design reviews, documentation reviews, and technical quality assurance assessments.
Review shop drawings, material submissions, requests for information (RFIs), and construction-related documentation.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to Project Architects, Graduate Architects, Architectural Technicians, and support staff.
Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, program, and budget objectives.
Support business development activities and contribute to project acquisition opportunities where required.
Promote best practices in BIM coordination, documentation standards, and project delivery processes.
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Architecture.
Minimum 10-15 years of professional architectural experience with demonstrated project leadership capabilities.
Registered Architect with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM) will be an advantage.
Proven experience leading complex architectural projects from design through construction stages.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian planning regulations, authority submission processes, building legislation, and approval requirements.
Experience in high-rise residential, mixed-use, commercial, luxury residential, or master-planned developments.
Excellent understanding of construction detailing, building technology, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary consultant coordination.
Experience with Rhino, Enscape, D5 Render, or similar visualization software will be an added advantage.
Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, teams, and competing priorities effectively.
Experience working with international developers, multinational consultants, or overseas projects would be advantageous.
Strong commercial awareness, problem-solving skills, and commitment to design and technical excellence.
