Job Title: Team Lead - Java Fullstack (2 open positions)

Job Description:

We are hiring two (2) Team Leads with Java Fullstack development experience to work on an Insurance project in Tokyo.

Responsibilities:

• Design scalable microservices, manage system integrations, and optimize database schemas
• Develop modular user interfaces and build high-performance, secure backend APIs and frontend applications
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers
• Backend Development: Build secure business logic and microservices using Java and frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Frontend Development: Design responsive user interfaces with Angular or React.
• API Integration: Develop and expose robust RESTful APIs or GraphQL endpoints to bridge the frontend and backend.
• Database Management: Design schemas, write optimized queries, and manage data via relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL options (MongoDB).
• Deployment & DevOps: Containerize applications using Docker and support CI/CD deployment pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jest) and participate in peer code reviews. [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Should have worked in Agile lifecycle and have good understanding on how Scrum teams operate
• Collaboratively work with cross functional teams

Requirements

• 10+ years of work experience out of which at least 2-3 years of experience as a Lead managing/mentoring a team of junior developers
• Good hands-on knowledge of Java (JDK 8/11/17+), JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Knowledge of Core Java, Spring MVC, Java Spring Boot,  API Microservices, Python
• Experience in Angular or React.js
• Working knowledge of Database – MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server
• Working experience in GitHub, Tomcat and Maven
• Experience with AWS Services: S3, ECS, RDS
• Exposure and participation in Agile / Scrum environment
• Japanese language preferred, not essential
