As part of this evolution, they are looking to build out their Legal function into a more strategic, proactive team. This junior-level role offers the chance to work closely with senior management and play a hands-on part in shaping a growing legal function at an established, listed company. Key Responsibilities

• Review and revise English and Japanese contracts for risk mitigation
• Research foreign laws and regulations for business expansion
• Advise business divisions on legal issues related to operations
• Prepare and deliver presentations to executive management in Japanese and English
• Support establishment of an independent Legal Department
• Develop offensive legal strategies to support business growth
• Collaborate with international teams on legal and compliance matters
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance for a publicly traded company

Requirements

• 5+ years legal experience in law firm or in-house
• Fluent in Japanese and English
• Experience drafting and reviewing contracts in English and Japanese
• Knowledge of foreign laws and regulations related to business expansion
• Experience with corporate governance and compliance in publicly traded companies preferred
• Ability to deliver presentations to executive management in Japanese and English preferred
• Proficiency in legal research tools and databases is preferred but not mandatory
