【Job Responsibilities】
The Scientific Consultant is responsible for  ensuring our customers maximize the value of our leading software solution throughout its adoption lifecycle. This involves a mix of scientific, technical, and project management responsibilities while serving as a subject matter expert, educator, collaborator, and trusted partner. In this role, you will help shape how major biopharmaceutical organizations analyze, manage, and leverage biological data using the industry standard platform, Genedata Screener.

This position reports to the EU Head of Scientific Account Management and is part of the Screener Business Unit located in Tokyo, managed by the Managing Director of Genedata KK.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Become a subject matter expert in Genedata Screener and the analysis of biological data
  • Provide end-to-end customer support, from pre-sales engagements through deployment, implementation, optimization, and production usage
  • Plan and lead a variety of projects, including scientific consulting, custom implementations, system integrations, and data analysis initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with sales team colleagues to clearly communicate the value and impact of Genedata products to prospective and existing customers
  • Apply your scientific and technical insights to contribute to strategic initiatives in science, marketing, development, and product management functions

Required Skills

【The essential requirements】
The successful candidate will have the following background:

  • A postgraduate degree in biology, bioinformatics, biochemistry, immunology or a related life science discipline, ideally including a wet lab experience
  • Advanced English (oral and written)
  • Fluency in Japanese (Native or N-1)
  • Basic familiarity with the shell command-line interface
  • Project Management experience or training
  • Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
     - Ability to travel – up to 30% travel in Japan, up to 3 times a year intercontinental (Europe or US).
  • It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
     - Performing analytical or preparative chromatography experiments
     - Experience from industry or academia within a drug discovery or drug development setting
     - Basic experience with Python scripting language
