Job Description

Key Purpose Statement

The Global Policy & Advocacy Lead translates their public affairs strategy into concrete policy positions, advocacy plans, and actionable guidance for regions, while leading global horizon scanning and geopolitical risk insights.
The role is a core strategic engine of the Global Public Affairs function and a key partner to regions, sustainability, legal, and corporate communication.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Policy Development, Positioning & Advocacy

  • Draft and maintain global policy papers, position statements, and principles

  • Ensure consistency and quality of policy content across themes and regions

  • Support senior advocacy engagement with robust, fact-based positioning

  • Together with Head of Public Affairs, represent their group externally at senior level with multilateral institutions, global industry platforms, international NGOs and policy forums.
     

2. Advocacy Planning & Regional Enablement

  • Develop global advocacy toolkits for RHQs and key markets and brief them on global positions

  • Coordinate advocacy narratives and materials for priority global issues

  • Support regions in adapting global positions to local regulatory contexts

  • Coordinate global advocacy priorities manage sharing of best practices, intelligence, and
    advocacy tools

     

3. Regulatory Intelligence & Horizon Scanning
  • Together with legal team track and analyze emerging regulatory and policy trends across key markets
  • Conduct horizon scanning on alcohol, taxation, sustainability, health, and wellbeing
  • Provide early-warning insights on emerging global and geopolitical risks
     
4. Geopolitical Risk Leadership
  • Lead the geopolitical risk agenda within Public Affairs
  • Input into scenario planning, crisis preparedness and issue management
  • Closely coordinate with Risk Management, Legal, Corporate Communication & Sustainability
     
5. Governance & Insight Sharing
  • Support Global Public Affairs governance rhythm and reporting
  • Provide structured insight to Global ExCom and senior leadership
 
Required Skills and Experiences
  • Strong background in global public policy, advocacy or regulatory affairs
  • Experience working with international institutions, policy bodies or NGOs

  • Strong analytical, drafting and synthesis skills

  • Ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable guidance and positions
