Job Description

POSITION TITLE Field Medical Science Liaison

 

POSITION SUMMARY

In this position, you will serve as a field-based scientific expert within the Medical Affairs function, building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, researchers, patient advocacy organizations, and centers of excellence. The role is responsible for delivering balanced scientific exchange, gathering actionable field insights, and supporting medical strategy through cross-functional collaboration.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, specialists, investigators, advocacy organizations, and treatment centers

  • Conduct scientific exchange regarding clinical data, disease-state information, treatment insights, and emerging research

  • Identify and prioritize key stakeholders aligned with medical strategy

  • Represent the organization at scientific congresses, medical meetings, and educational programs

  • Provide non-promotional scientific presentations and educational support

  • Respond to medical inquiries with accurate, evidence-based information

  • Support clinical and medical initiatives, including clinical trial-related activities

  • Gather and communicate field insights regarding treatment patterns, unmet medical needs, scientific trends, and competitive dynamics

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and other cross-functional teams

  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, or equivalent)

  • Minimum 3 years of Medical Science Liaison experience within the biopharmaceutical industry

  • Strong scientific and pharmaceutical expertise, particularly in rare diseases

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a field-based environment

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • MSL-BC certification

  • Experience working with advocacy organizations, specialty treatment centers, or academic institutions

  • Knowledge of clinical trial design, research processes, and regulatory requirements

  • Established scientific or clinical network

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent travel required (approximately 50% to 75%), including conferences, site visits, stakeholder meetings, and internal meetings

 

LOCATION Remote (South eastern region)

 

SALARY

  • Base Salary: USD 160,000-190,000
